Urdu Fonts on web page
Hi everybody,
When we open the Urdu version (Pakistani language) of the BBC's site www.bbc.com/urdu, it downloads a plug-in to our computer so that we may able to view the urdu characters correctly. As there is no HTML editor which generates urdu webpages. There is a way that most urdu websites use is creating webpages through images. These images are created in some urdu software and then add to the page in the form of image. But the BBC site does not use this technique thats why the site loads fast. I want to know that how they do or which technique they use? |

looks like plain arabic font... urdo is written with the common arabic letters? if so, all that is needed is having arabic font installed, probably that was what you saw being installed - it's done by the browser itself when it recognize font which is not installed on the computer. the website does not have to have any special code.
they simply write the text using the original font and language, and having this meta: <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="ur"> |
