Thumbs up Visual Web Developer and Bob

Has anybody downloaded and installed the Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition from MS yet? I did it the other night and must say most impressed, previously had Web Matrix [still have] running but this just looks slicker. I got the full works: ASP.NET 2.0 framework, VWD 05 EE, SQL SERVER, MSDN LIBRARY.

Dont get me wrong its a whopping 360 ++ megs but the installation is just a couple of clicks and its done.

The best thing though I have found is the video tutorials from our friendly Bob the .net host with the most, they really are good.

Big fat plus points here to MS for delivering a worthwhile package with tons of top notch support.

The links for the download is here.

The link for the informative videos plus Bob's patter is here.

This would be really useful for classic asp coders to take the important step plus any students learning .net. I give it +10.

i downloaded them, but never installed them ... then i went to a TechNet and MSDN event on the launch of these products and they gave every attendant a copy of Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition, so I deleted the download and installed these instead ... i just haven't had a chance to use either one yet.

but i think i will check out Bob's patter link. thanks

Mehere he's a joy, he's obviously getting one shot at recording the video, there is about 14 of them each half an hour or so long and as any of us would makes some boo boos but still talks through them trying to get back on track. I just find him comical at times, once you pick up on certain things he says he's constantly doing it.

Priceless, Bob your a star mate!
