General Question - What does a Website Design / SEO Business look Like?

HI to all,

I am a website designer and partime seo / sem in Australia.

Currently I am working from home and thinking of moving into an office soon.

I was just wondering if anyone can give me feedback on where you work from.

Do you work from home?
Do you work from an office?
Advantage / dissadvanges from one or the other.

If business seems to be going well from home should I spend the extra $ to move into an office and hopefuly improve on the business image.

Also I have hnever been into website designers or seo office, what's there? Chairs, Desk & Computers, or is it set up like a retail store?

Do your customers come to visit you? or do you visit them?

Any comments or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Mal

I think this comes under the "Whatever works for you." type of answer.

I do both and there are positives and negatives as you are already aware.

Prospective clients (if they are local) sometimes like to pop-in to check you out before they sign on to do business with you. Working from home when this happens is not good.

I live by the coast in Scotland and the nearest city to me is Glasgow - where the majority of work is sourced. Having a base in this location helps in networking and spreading the word about your business. The commute is a pain but there are millions more than myself that travel further to reach their workstation each working day.

You say you do SEO - here's an SEO test released by Rand himself: Answer these 10 Questions before you start charging for SEO Services.

If you work from home you have to force yourself out of bed and not watch tv all day
