I am a web developer/programmer for a company in the book retail market, I also do a part time job for a medical doctor where I develop applications in vb.Net and I also recently started my own company dealing in customized software development and website design.

My ideal...to be a profesional sportsman and tour the world - surfing, wakeboarding or snowboarding, any one will do

My dream job is to work for the NSA

I started life with a carpenter/joiner apprenticeship in the UK, then moved from site work to project management on UK Defence sites, running multi-million pound contracts. All through that time I was dabbling in 'puter stuff, and on a couple of the new contracts took on the role of IT admin as well. Finally got bored with the whole construction industry after 13 years and went travelling the world for 18 months before ending up and settling in Australia. When I got here I worked with a travelling fair for 6 months (yes, I was a carney!!) then blagged my way into a series of IT support and DB admin roles, and ended up developing, marketing and launching a 13 website portal for a huuuuuuge publishing company.

And then I got bored and set up on my own freelancing IT services and kind of slipped into web dev. I do 90% of the work myself, from graphic design to db develpment (MSSQL, MySQL, MSAccess) to standards compliant front ends and back ends in ASP and PHP.

What would my dream job be? Beer tester of course .... and on that note, it's time to crack open another

That IS the perfect job...combine that with Game tester or Movie critic....and I'd be loaded!

My Job...
My current "Title" is Intraweb Application Design <---- Big Title Little Paycheck ... I actually was hired into my position b/c I fell asleep on my keyboard... literally.

I was asleep at my desk one day and someone walked by and asked if I wanted something to do. I was soon typing client data into Excel Spreadsheets that they were converting to some Web Pages.
My company used a Macromedia program called Robohelp to load about a 1000 web pages at once in a WebHelp Project. Of course it was garbage Thirty Seconds To Load Thirty Seconds To Search lol I told them they had no idea what they were doing and made a simple navigation for the flow of pages. They loved it, I got a new job, and now we are moving to a fully dynamic Web Help system with a interactive user experience
I honestly knew little to nothing about what I was doing two years ago when I started but Thanks to everyone here and the other helpful web communities out there I am working towards becoming certified and hunting down a real paycheck.

My dream job would definately involve working from the beach... any beach will do, Any one need a lifeguard?

I was a Programmer/Analyst primarily wokring with VB 6 (starting to play with .NET) SQL Server, Access and have had a contract doing Access DB Development for the last 4 years.

I just started a new job (4 weeks ago) working as an Business Analyst for a major Online reseller, (got a good increase ($) to go with the move). Got the job primarily because of my business background and my strong SQL skills (that have been developed here helping others).

Dream Job....huh.... I would have to say it would be to have enough money that I could play monoploy in the real world.
