What's your favourite music genre?

Founded the Free Lounge side, I think we can discuss about something not related with the programming code...
What's your favourite music genre?

I like all the Electronics genres (overall Gothic/Industrial/EBM and IDM), and a bit Classical and Jazz ...

have to say classical. Handel is great. Why do people listen to rap and hip hop stuff? Can it even be defined as music considering all it contains is a repeditive beat and somone talking quickly?

I listen to just about everything. Classical, country, rock, jazz, blues, oldies, techno, dance, pretty much everything that sounds good.

for the most part though, classic rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, etc) and Power Metal.

However, right now it's Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi.

I completely agree with arthandel. Rap, Hip Hop and R&B cannot be classed as music. Music is an art. People write songs and perform them. Sequencing somebody else's work cannot be classed as art. There is no musical talent required to create these songs.

I personally prefer any kind of guitar music but mainly rock music. Fave bands include Stone Roses, Oasis, The Who, Black Sabbath, Primal Scream, Stereophonics, Metallica (older stuff), G'n'R

well id say rock, punk pop-rock, indie, ska, electronic, some rnb, hip hop (dj yoda), some rnb pop and general mainstream stuff.

Having been to loads more gigs tis year im swaying more to rock punk and emo type music.
I ahte genres anyways too limiting as my musical taste is quite varied.
.matt
p.s. stevemw i saw stereophonics last month and they were awesome almost as good as goldfrapp or were on before them.

hey I love R&B and Hip hop. To respond to that earlier
comment, classical music is great. I play the violin for
a matter of fact. But you can't disregard R&B and Hip
Hop. Music takes all type of form. It could be expression
through insruments, or through a beat and a mic. It
doesn't ring well with me when people trash hip hop
just because it may not sound as elegant as classical.
It get's people to react, and people can listen to it over
and over and over again. Music is entertainment, and it
certainly entertains people.
