which asp version?

Hello Forum
Been Web Designing for a few years now and now need to get into
using some server stuff, another web designer told me asp would be the one to learn,
but what version?, where can I find out what the differences are and which version would best suit me?
Thanks,
completenewbie.

Im Using Dreamweaver MX 2004 which uses document templates
the choices are
ASP JavaScript template
ASP VBScript template
ASP.Net C# template
ASP.Net VB template

As i said Im a complete novice on the subject, maybe I should ask how do these
relate to ASP. or ASP.net?

Are you wanting to develop in ASP or ASP.NET?
And if you want to develop in ASP.NET, then which language do you want to code in? VB.NET or C#?

does that mean ASP is simpler to get a handle on?
if so does that mean its limited in comparison to ASP.NET?

Tim.

Standard ASP is much easier to learn than ASP.NET.
