It doesnt matter what genre you are succeptible to, but who do you think think is gonnae be huge for 2K6?

Myself, I think its the year of the Gorillaz to conquer all four points of the planet, their music is so vibrant and original. That along with the concept of using animated characters to front the profle of the band is awesome.

Not sure about up and coming bands. I really like U2 but they are already huge !!

I'm not big on music, but U2 are always near the top of my playlist. As for upcoming music, I wouldn't have a clue

LOL, I guess none of us (including myself) have our fingers on the pulse of the music scene. I guess I thought I was being hip and trendy again (was I ever in the first place I wonder) after getting a few CD'S from Santa.

OK, I'll change the structure of the thread, what music do you listen to when your coding - be it a home or work - I listen to the Sounds of the 80's and also Virgin Rock at work. At home I listen only to personal stuff like the Gorillaz, Coldplay, yes U2 as well I suppose anything mainstream.

What's your thoughts guys?

Virgin Radio is the best rad station, pretty much anything on there i will listen too. I go through phases but at teh mo i like

Santa left me to new CD's this year. They couldn't be any more different.

1 - Eminem's - Curtain Call - Greatest Hits
2 - Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic
3 - Jack Johnson's new cd

And when I get bored with that, I listen to ESPN radio to get me through the day.

I'm not really into the "next big thing" because I love too many bands. But if we're talking about a band that will make an impression in 2006, then I'd say my boys from "The Prodigy." Their album should be out next year and their shows have just got better by the year. They're already huge but I expect them to do good next year.

Does the lead singer - Keith Something or Another, can't at the mo remember his surname, is it Flint? Aye does the lead singer still have that awesome double edged mohawk? I remember their video to Firestarter that was awesome, as well as Smack my Bitch Up the things that woman in the video got up to were scary.

Yeah Prodigy would be good for the music scene again, show the lame ducks that normally fill the chart positons to how do it.

Recently he hasn't. He changes his hair style a lot and his outfits but his personality is still there. It's explosive! But yeah, they released a new album last year which did will in Europe but not to good here in the states but mostly because the album got very little promotion. They'll be signing with a new label in the U.S. and I know the singles album, which is already out, will also be released in the states.

Okay, I'm totally in awe of these bands that are just going from strength to strength in the UK at the mo. Thought I'd give all our non-uk members a chance to check them out.

Yeah the Kaiser Chiefs have done some good stuff, i know of the other two but not enough to really comment on their music yet!! I will watch those vids after work
