Question from online post local

i have a question about a site i'm creazting

i combine flash with asp and i'm creating a clan for a game
first of all i want to know how i detect if they have the game installed

and second of all when they are a member i need to change a file from a game
the filt contains the username in the game
the file is a cfg extension and the part a need to change in this file is marked by seta name"here there nickname"

is it possible to change this file online so yes how ???

All the security patches to IE etc. are explicitely aimed at stopping scripts in the browser writing to the client PC so you will be most likely out of luck here
