How do I get rid of the "?" in Query Strings?
I am a SEO with a client who runs dynamic pages with query strings. I can't get him ranked! It was driving me crazy until I learned from another forum that Googlebot, slurp and other robots see the "?" in the string and stop dead in their tracks.
My client, who is the programmer of these ECommerce sites needs to find a solution. I am helping him get information on software that will make this undertaing possible. WE REALLY NEED HELP as he and his clients are losing big time traffic opportunities everyday. (I'm new to this form and don't see where, if I get a reply, I get an automatic EMail. So If you know that I don't, please EMail me: rob@robwallace.net |

Wrong
You are 100% wrong...
the googlebot has no problem at all indexing pages with a querystring in them. You might want to check out the webmaster resources on the Google website which goes into great detail about what the googlebot can and can not do ![]() |

selwonk If I've posted some code above, you might think it looks a bit simplistic. It might be. I'd rather people tried the next step themselves rather than getting a full solution on a plate. That way they learn more! |

OK, if I'm wrong, what could be the cause of the ASP programming which is blocking the Spiders?
