I don't worry for my javascript... I know how to use the id and indeed, it's great. but what about form elements? without name attribute, how ASP will grab their value? if by the id, what about multiple controls, for example checkbox group? Quote:

form tags still have the name attribute. I should have corrected myself. I'm thinking that it might be only forms that have name= still. Anchors now only use id.... imagemaps I don't know about. I don't know if I can, or how to, make a compliant image map. That uses the usemap attribute which I can't seem to make work with the new standards.

you can always test by doing it and seeing how the HTML Validator reacts to your web page. You'd need to have the XHTML 1.1 doctype on your page in order to validate as XHTML 1.1 though.

Then use CSS to absolutely position them, and to give them width and height But you can't create circular or polygonal map-equivalents though see here: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/imagemap/ |
