HTML - VALIGN Prohibited by W3C
I've been trying to validate the website I'm working on using W3C's markup validation service. The pages all throw errors when I use the VALIGN attribute in <TD> tags. I use VALIGN frequently, but I need (want) the pages to validate.
I'm using ASP and SHTML files, and using the HTML 4.01 Transitional doctype. I know the best advice is not to use tables at all, but I wrote this site way back when I was a table freak, and I'd rather not give the entire site a facelift if I don't have to. Is there an alternate (W3C approved) way to accomplish vertical alignment in a table? Thanks, joe |

Use CSS - google for "vertical-align".

I wasn't aware the vertical-align would work with tables - shows what I know....
Thanks! joe |
