What is "tabular data"

What is "tabular data"

I understand (and like) that tables should not be used for layout. This is a good thing.

I also get that tables are fine for tabular data.

But....

What is considered tabular data. Is it any repeating data, such as a list of products showing various info?

Or is it more restrictive than that?

yep tabular data is

Information displayed in a relvant pattern where a logical relationships exists between data that is displayed in columns and/or rows.
