Access DB crashing problem
Hi.
My database crashes whenever I try to run 2 of my forms. They're reasonably complicated, but not overly so. I'm running Office XP (no service packs since I'm running it on Win98). Unfortunately, I'm not able to upgrade to Win XP. Has anyone had this happen to them? I made no programming changes prior to the crash. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to fix it, or links to programs that can do that. Thank you. |

Wht exactly are the forms trying to do that is making them complicated and what does the DB do to signfy that it is having problems

Well I worked around it using a previous backup, but here's what it was doing precisely.
Double click on the form... it brings up the 'fatal error message' window, and asks me to backup my DB so it can try and repair it. It backs it up, and then locks. All tables were fine, all modules were fine, all reports were fine. It would take too long to explain what made the form complicated. The error was not due to any code contained within the form, as there had been no changes prior to the problem. Briefly, the form entered information in one table, but also did various calculations based on another table, and stored the results in a third table. |
