I believe that you need the developers version to create a runtime version. Not sure, as I have never had to do so. If I run into an eviroment where they don't have Access I create the system in VB 6.0

You have to install the runtime version of MS Access in all machines to execute the MDB as then only JET Engine will be available on that system.

Or of course you could create ASP pages and put the database on a Web server so that any user with a browser and an Internet connection could use the database without any special software installed on his PC.

Bullscmidt
I'm glad you replied. I'm working on just that. I've tried uploading access pages to a web server. Do all servers support access web pages? I can't seem to connect the database. I change the connection strings and it all looks fine but I get a error that says can't find object "data" (which is the table name). I can only assume that the server doesn't support these type pages. Any ideas??

Well if you're talking about data access pages it's just the limited nature of data access pages that the user's computer needs to be able to establish a client-side connection to the database. That's why data access pages aren't really used much on the Internet.

And for your info here is my take on putting a database on the Web WITHOUT requiring the user to have a copy of the database on his or her PC.
