Unhappy accessing access

I thought I finished my first database, till I secured it. Now I found myself blocked out of my own database!

I followed the tips seen on threads20441 in which TBArpi gave some good hints: making a new .mdw file.
Unfortunately I did not come as far as point 6: log in as the new administrator.

As simple as that. How can I log in as a specific client.
Taking over ownerships of objects is not granted because I am not the administrator .. the menu says the log in is the administrator.

Is there some one out there who recognizes my problem?

Evelien

I'm not sure if this will apply to yours, but one of my friends did this to his own database. He noticed that when he loaded up the database, the menus were there but disapeared straight away. He simply kept trying and trying until he finally clicked on the Tools menu before it disappeared meaning he could take off all the security features. I don't know if how he caused it in the first place is the same as you, but if it is it's worth giving this method a try.

PS - In the future, make a copy of the DB and apply the security features to that one instead

Evelien,

Press the <Shift> key on your keyboard BEFORE you double click on your database file, and keep it pressed until the database opened.
The menu will not disappear (hopefully).

However, I am planning to post a bit more detailed explanation about securing a database. I'll do it ASAP.

TBArpi,
Thanks for your reaction. I'am looking forward to your next explanation.
Are there still possibilities of entering this secured databased overruling all the securities.
Bregards
Evelien

Could you prevent disappearing the menu?

Post your DB (but try to compress and definitely zip it), and I see what can I do.
