Acess 2002 Dates

My client has a school registration database originally designed in Access 97. There are collums for date of bith and date of baptism. Prior to updrading to Access 2002 the dates read 1997, 1998, etc.

After the upgrade some dates revert to 1903, 1901, etc.

Any ideas on how to fix this to reflect the correct dates that were in Access 97?
