anything but file permissions

Hi there, basically I was wondering if this error

Code:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' 
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

could be caused by anything but file permission errors in my db folder on my server? I am trying to update an access database with asp, and I can retrieve data from the db, just not update it
