Basic But Interesting
A letter needs to be generated in MS word [must be Word for network save to file constraints] which is always the same letter with a couple of pieces of info related to a customers record.
The letter is: ########## [Todays Date] Dear [Cust Name], Please send us [Tot Of Job] by [14 days from today]. Thankyou. ########## The table I have created has the fields: ########## Cust Name $ Amt 1 Owed Job $ Amt 2 Owed Job $ Amt 3 Owed Job ########## The [Tot Of Job] in the letter is the sum of: $ Amt 1 Owed Job and $ Amt 2 Owed Job and $ Amt 3 Owed Job in the table. All I have is the table and an understanding of merge in MS Word. How do I do this? T.I.A. |

It is possible in Access itself by using report. We are sending Invoice covering letter with some of the information from Ms access database.
If it just going to be the same letter without change in writeup except for data you can use the report writer wizard of access to create the report with fields you required from table and then place as many text box as you want for placing your prewritten text and intermingle it with data fields to get the letter. If you want a Mailmerged letter only on MS word (in Office 2003 version)go to Tools Mailmerge wheren in you will be guided further.
