Question Can you password protect an ACCESS database?

I was given a project and the manager wants the database to be password protected or allow users to enter a PIN code. Can this be done? I haven't seen anything that's telling me it can with the text book I'm using to learn ACCESS--Microsoft ACCESS 2000 Bible.

Also, how large(record size) can a database be that is built using 2002? The manager wants all data input into the database as fare back as 1999 or earlier. He doesn't want a feature to purge records based on a date he wants to individually delete records... .

any help for this newbie is very much appreciated!!

As for the size of the database, the limitations is 2GB. But that is for everything that is in the database (ie. forms, tables, etc.).

As for securing the database, you can go to tool and then to security. Then select User and Group Accounts. From there you can add users and set their logon password.

Later,
David Somers
