I am designing a DataBase on a DVD rental shop in MS Access. I wish to create a form allowing the user to select a DVD CopyNumber and find the details of the last loan for that copy (name of the person who borrowed it, DVD title, DateOut, DateDue and DateReturn).
I have set up a query containing all these information, but I am not sure how to create a form allowing the user to select the DVD copy number to see these information. Could anyone please help me with this. Many Thanks |

mouk2007, I have reviewed your recent postings, and I must tell you that most of your questions are about the most basic use of Microsoft Access. The best way for you to learn Access is to read some tutorials, rather than post constant questions in a forum. Then when you are really stuck, ask a specific question. Forums like this are really valuable for solving specific problems, but you can't learn the basics of a complex system like Access from them.

Thanks for your reply. I have made a form however where I am stuck is how to allow the CopyNumber to be selected. When I try to create a form using wizard and I am asked 'How do you want to view your date' and I select the option by DVDCopy (this is the table where CopyNumber is located), instead of just the DVD copy appearing at the top both the DVDTitle and CopyNumber appear on the top so when I finish creating the form both of these can be selected by the user. What I want to know is how to make DVDCopy the only option that can be selected. Many Thanks for your help. |

I think you are trying to use the form wizard for a special purpose form that it cannot build for you. The form wizard can only generate a simple display of data from a table or query. You seem to want something different. You will probably have to go into Design View and design your own form. Once again, I strongly recommend that you first learn how to do basic things in Access, such as designing forms, by reading some tutorials. There are many online tutorials. Try using Google, using search terms ms access tutorial. |
