Good Evening All..
I'm trying to create a macro that will import excel data into the Access table I've created for it. All headers and data are exact and in the correct order. However, when I run it the Macro I get the error message "Cannot Open (file name). It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view it's data." The Excel file is closed, I don't have the folder open where it's housed but I still get this message. As far as permissions is concerned, this file is on my desktop at home ( I'm using windows 2000) and I'm the administrator. I'm not sure what's wrong with this or how to fix this. Your help is much appreciated. |

Does sound like your on the right route with permissions etc.. But as Admin shouldn't cause a problem.
Have you fixed this? Easyest way round is to a copy and paste into Access until you can get the MAcro improting properly. |

Hi, Thanks for responding. Funny enough, I did find what the problem was, but I'm not quite sure why this is. I found that simply copying and pasting the exact location as to where the excell file is wasn't doing it. Even though the link pasted correctly, Access didn't allow this path to work. I actually had to type in the full path for it to work.
