I'm trying to create a report where it lists employee name, current salary and all pay-increase amounts and the dates... for example
Jane C. Doe $23,000 $3, 300 1/1/04 $1,500 9/15/02 Here is the query I'm suing: SELECT Employee_Info.Emp_ID, Employee_Info.Emp_FName, Employee_Info.Emp_MI, Employee_Info.Emp_LName, Employee_Pay_Info.Emp_Pay_Amt, Employee_Pay_Info.Emp_Pay_DT, (Employee_Info.Emp_Init_Sal+(SELECT sum(Employee_Pay_Info.emp_pay_amt) FROM Employee_Pay_Info where employee_pay_info.emp_id = Employee_info.emp_id AND Employee_Pay_Info.Emp_Pay_Type_ID=1)) AS EXPR1 FROM Employee_Info INNER JOIN Employee_Pay_Info ON Employee_Info.Emp_ID=Employee_Pay_Info.Emp_ID WHERE Employee_Pay_Info.Emp_Pay_Type_ID=1; it's returning.... 18 Nancy C Johnson $650.00 1/10/04 $11,300.00 18 Nancy C Johnson $650.00 6/6/97 $11,300.00 19 Cheryl C Simpson $10.00 1/1/99 $11,010.00 On the report I have an emp_lname header and I moved the fields for the name and current salary there and left the fields for the pay_amt and pay_dt in the detail sections. When I tried to preview the report I get "Multi_level Group By clause is not allowed in a sub-query. I tried using the Report Wizard thinking my free-hard format was wrong and I get the same error. PLEASE if you can help it 's greatly appreciated. |

This may be resolved by creating a chain of queries eg. several queries built on each other. So try to not use a sub query but create a so-called 'pre-query' and create an other query working on that pre-query.
