New to Access and need help

Hi everyone,

I'm new to using MS Access and have only completed two databases using the sample and built in type databases. I'm taking a computer class at my local community college and need some help with some very basic things on Access. Is anyone out there willing to be a cyber "Access for Dummies" type person and help me out? Any help would be appreciated.

At this point, I have one important question for an assignment that is coming up in about 10-12 days. I have muddled my way through Power Point to make a presentation. That worked pretty well. Now I have to do a combo project using MS Word, Publisher, Access and Power Point. As I said, I'm really dealing on a very basic level here. I've figured out how to combine my Word Document and my Publisher brochure into Power Point, to use it in my slide presentation. However, I have no idea how to "import" or pull my next small access database into my PPT presentation to complete my little project. In fact, I'm not yet entirely sure how to even make a "real" Access database, except that I've tried to use the wizard and managed to pull together a database of sorts, but it was actually buried inside an access file that was inside another. I don't need database stuff in my job or daily computer use, so this is a new deal for me.

Any suggestions or help would be great!
Linda D

One way to do this (may not be the way your teach wants it), use an action button and "run program", except you are not running a program you will run your "DatabaseName.mdb" file (which will lauch you Access DB).

To be honest, this is the way I teach my students to do it.
