Preventing Form Sorting

Hello,

So far I've been able to use macros, queries, and subforms to cheat my way around almost any problem encountered with form design. However, I'm stymied on this latest one. I'm setting up a simple form linked to a single table (no queries involved). I've set up the form to assign a users ID to an entry if they double-click on the entry number. We're trying to make people click on the next record available, but people keep re-sorting the form by name or number - thus throwing off the intended sorting. Is there any sort of setting that will allow me to lock out sorting?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
