Unhappy A problem of too many users

Hi all,

I installed IIS 5.0 on Win2K, then got it started. But I can't

access html or asp by using http://127.0.0.1 or my server.

That's the error:
HTTP 403.9 - Access Forbidden: Too many users are connected
Internet Information Services

It's impossible. Only one user---me to use my server.
I tried some ways to solve it. For example, disable HTTP
keep alives.----from microsoft website, ... and so on.
but not working.

anyone can help me? thanks

any other way?

I tried, but I can't change connection from limited to unlimited. Is anything
wrong with my IIS installation or something else?

I have no idea.
I don't know what options or settings you selected during the install.
I don't know how you have it configured.

On W2K Pro this setting doesn't do anything. The 10 connection limit is hardcoded in IIS.

Smile Hmm, What about this?

Are you sure you cant change the IIS Connection limit, you can do it on XP by editing the Metabase.
I have found this link, because i had the same problem, but i have edited it, and everything seems to be running excellently now!
http://www.psacake.com/web/iy.asp

I assume that this will work for IIS on Win2k, cuz it says on Microsoft's website (where you download the Metabase editor from) that it applies for 2K!

Good Luck!

Chris

You might be able to hack the limit up a bit, but afaik you'll still run in to a connection limit that's hardcoded.
