Why do I get 'Invalid Default Script Language' errors?

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0201'
Invalid Default Script
The default script language specified for this application is invalid.

or

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0129'
Unknown scripting language
The scripting language '<lang>' is not found on the server.

or

HTTP/1.1 Invalid Default Script Language

Searched all over the internet but no solution found.

After using the regmon tool it turns out that the problem seems a security issue.

start regedit.exe
goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VBScript
Right click en choose Permissions
add the IUser_{servername} with the right credentials
execute iisreset

Are you writing your code in VBScript?

Normal simpel asp pages and yes that's vbscript but you can have the same problems with Jscript.

Then choose HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript

VBscript is normaly the default script language in all iis servers (for asp of course)
