IIS Configuration? Passing querystrings to default pages

I am using the open source claroline for some e-learning development, however wheneve I try to access a document, it says that I am not authorised. I have worked out that this is due to the url.

http://usatrn01/elearning/claroline...le_document.pdf

does not work but

http://usatrn01/elearning/claroline...le_document.pdf

does work (includes the index.php)

The above works on my local pc (win 2000 server) but not on my win nt 4, iis 4 server.

Is there a setting that I need to change to allow a querystring to be passed to a default page?

Thanks

Steve

It must be something like that, but it works on my win 2000 server with the same IIS installed I believe. Just had to go through and put in the full url in the end.. not sure why it is a benefit to leave index.php out like that.
