W2K IIS 5 should run asp scripts without any additional IIS configuration.

Hi Doug,

thanks for the reponse but thats what I tought intially, but none of my old scripts work on iis5. I read some early discussion threads in this forum which talked about changing permissions on certain directories to write as well as read but to no avail.
This is coomon error I get from a scripts which I know definitley work "

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.
/334cws1/customeradded.asp, line 35"

Send a message via MSN to RobUK
You need to give the IUSR_MachineName account WRITE permissions to the database directory.

Also, check that the database is not marked read only.

Hi guys thanks for the response much appreciated but I have managed to to sort the the problem but not in any of the ways you suggested. I tried it with my internet connection unplugged. I don't know if this is some sort of school boy error but it seems to work when my computer is not connected to the internet. Any ideas why fellas ? Though I imagine this won't be last post I do and you will probably be hearing from me soon.

Reanna
