Authentication problems uploading files to Win2003
Hi,
I have been having real problems moving a web kit to Win2003 Server. The problems arise when I try to upload files from a web page to the server using the Posting Acceptor (CPSHOST.DLL). If I set IIS to use Windows authentication then it will work okay in an intranet where users have valid credentials for that domain, but it will not work when accessed over the internet where users are prompted by their browser for login details. If I do not use Windows authentication in IIS then it will not work at all. The problem still persists if I change the Posting Acceptor code for some pure ASP. Anybody else experience anything similar when moving to Win2003? Cheers Andrew |

Is posting acceptor even included in W2003? I haven't heard much about it since IIS4

The Posting Acceptor isn't supported by Microsoft any more it's true, but it still seems to work okay on other platforms. My problems with Win 2003 seem to persist though even when I recoded the file upload to use pure ASP. It seems to be a authentication issue when the time comes to write files onto the server.
