Exclamation Config IIS problems...router?

Hey guys, i'm a complete ASP and IIS newb. I used to have IIS set up on my system when I was on a T1 connection and all was fine.

Now, I moved and am on SBC Yahoo DSL with a Router attached. When I try to access localhost I get: "No web site is configured at this address."

I am on Win XP Pro with SP1. I have zone alarm and norton av running in background. In IIS, the website is "running". Please help a newb out here.

Warm Regards,

-k

Sounds like some firewall blockage.

Make sure port 80 is open through your router.

You'll have to refer to your router's documentation.

Angry Similar Problem?

I think I have a similar problem...
I have cable modem access going into DLink router where I have a win2k3 server in which my XPSP2 box is authenticated and everything. I have IIS running on my XP and it works from itself (as localhost or internal IP) and I can access it from my server (using internal IP). But when I try to use external IP, I get the MSN search page saying it cannot find it. I have even setup a "virtual Server" on my router where all port 80 requests should be redirected to my XP machine. Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks!

Likely your ISP is blocking port 80.

No block on 80

Well I checked with my ISP:
"The Road Runner service blocks ports 135-139 inclusive, 445, 593, 67, and 68 for the security of your system. These blocked ports will not affect connectivity. "
gotta be a router thing.
back to the drawing board....

I fixed it! Ok so i'm not really sure what fixed it, but in my router, I turned off my DHCP (Server is doing that) and I had to open port 80 on my firewall. I know, I know..everyone said that, but I misunderstood my routers help info. I thought that adding the "virtual server" which would redirect port 80 requests would allow those requests in. Nope. Once I opened 80 and had the redirect in place, it worked fine!
Thanks for everyone's help!!
