Hi,
you will need IIS if you want to develop ASP pages on your local machine, even if you are not going to host the site, IIS is the "engine" that parses the ASP code, and without it you wont be able to view ASP pages on your machine, but if you are not a web developer and dont run ASP pages on your machine, then IIS is not needed. let us know if you need any more info ![]()

I design tricked out custom CCTV systems for a living but this is my home PC and use it for gaming, CCTV Forum chattin, making home movies and phote albums into dvd's and surfin the net for new technolgy. I couldn't tell you how to begin to develop a web or host a site and that ASP.net thing has an account on my computer. I looked it up online and it sounded kinda cool so I kept it on here and then when I tried to get it off it only looked like it went away cause I found it and a bunch of other thing like WMI, DNS, ODBC, inetpub and all kinds of stuff I don't think I need or if I do need it I want to know what it does.
