.GPX (GPS) files suddenly broken
Help, I am a basic novice, I have worked in building websites in the past, but now that it is not part of my job description, I am at a loss on this problem.
I have a website that covers mountain biking and I host .GPX files for using with a GPS.
For the past few months, they have worked fine. Now, suddenly they are giving 404's on my hoster (godaddy.com).
I am running simple ASP pages so that I can use some includes for my navigation.
If a user clicks on the link for the GPS file, they get a 404. The file is physically on the server (I have verified this) and if they choose "save target as" they have the same problem.
Since I am new I cannot give links.
I thought it was possibly the ASP so I built a quick test HTML page to link to the same file, and it gives me the same error.
I know this is totally the hoster's fault, and I have done nothing with my files in months, so it is definitely something that changed on the server. Is anyone else having problems or know how to help me resolve this?
I am guessing that somehow GPX has probably become associated with some type of web file, but the 404 is troubling because I know the files are there for the ~40 trails that have associated GPX files.
Works fine on my system at home.
It is not dependant on the browser, getting errors with IE (vista), firefox and people on Macs (assuming safari).
