Headache Causing Problems with website.

I have windows xp pro sp2, unsure of iis version bc I am not infront of my computer at home, I have for months ran a website of of my computer, http://compromisedcs.com and had no problems however the other day I was remoted desktop into my computer and recieved a network connections icon in the top right corner of my screen and then it grayed out. Since I have not been able to remote nor hit my website by ip or address. I have verified the ip is correct and I have all ports forwarded correctly as nothing has changed. I can't hit the site from the very computer that it is on but I can hit every other site that I try externally. I have stopped iis and restarted, I have rebooted all devices as well to make sure there was not a glich of some sort. I have a static ip internally of 192.168.1.100 in which my linksys is forwarded too and port 80 is allowed. At this point I have come to the conclusion that it might be the router as I can ping my address and also get into my router remotely however it does not seem that it is allowing a passthrough. Any thoughts or helpful hints on this would be most greatfully appreciated as I am at my wits end

Thanks, Bobby

Your ISP may have blocked port 80.

Or your router may not be forwarding port 80 to the internal LAN IP of your web server.

Or your web server isn't running.

Or the XP SP2 firewall is blocking port 80

Doug,
Thank you for your reply however I have port 80 on the sp2 firewall enabled. I even shut it off at one point to verify that was not it. My isp is the same and I don't see that they would have blocked this option by coincedence at the same time this happened. I have verified that the iis server is running and I have restarted it as well. The only thing that I can come to at this point is that the router is not doing it's job. If you can think of anything else please feel free to let me know.
Thanks again,
Bobby

Start with opening a browser on the IIS console to http://localhost

If IIS is running properly you should get something back from IIS, normally the IIS online documentation.

If that doesn't work confine your troubleshooting to the IIS server.

Talking

Doug,

thanks again I will try this when I get home. Another thing that I had tried last night was completely removing my router from play and that didn't work either. I also completely removed service pack 2 last night and that didn't fix anything either. However from there I did get a 404 error instead of a timeout. Thanks again for you help as it is greatly appreciated.
