Homepage error

I hope someone can help with this query.

When the URL of my Website is typed in e.g

URL then an error 404 appears. If I type

URL then the page appears fine.

Anonymous login details are correct and the default.htm is setup in the document tab. All security settings appear to be fine.

I am at a complete loss as to why the page is not appearing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

John

OOPS - I see you already checked the document tab. I don't know why a default page wouldn't appear.

For good luck you might try a different default document type & see if it works (like a default.asp or index.html).

--------------------skip below

You can specify the "default" document(s) for a website in the IIS MMC Service Manager.

Open the properties page for the website, click the Documents tab & arrange the order of your default document types.
