how to link up files...
i have an index.html. file in my directory for iis.... but i wan to put sum files in a folder named test in the wwwroot directory(which is the main parent directory) how to i make the index.html link and open up the asp file in the test folder??

Can you describe what you are trying to do in a bit more detail? You can of course use a hyperlink.

ok... again
sori to be unclear... i will try to describe again in details...
cos i am hosting my pages on IIS.. therefore all the pages have to be in a folder say X right?? and the folder is set in the IIS properties rite? ok... now i have say for test A i have 10 pages and for test B i have 10 pages... i do not wan them to be mix and put into the folder X together.. i wan them to be in folder X but in different folder in folder X folder X consists of folder A and folder B but if i do tat... then i cannot link my index page to the folder A and B... does IIS support sub folder? is there a way?? |

You can use any normal file structure in your web. There isn't any problem keeping pages segregated by using different folders. Do you have some code that's giving you a problem or something? I use subfolders all the time in asp webs.

i am hosting the pages on my local computer and using IIS... if i put them in diff folder... it will give me an error msg that the file could not be found...

I'm sorry to hear that you get an error.
Not being a mind reader or having telekinetic abilities to read your code from a distance, you'll have to post the exact error and some of the offending code if you want some more assistance. |
