Angry IE tries to download an ASP page rather than redirect to it

Hello,

I am using Frontpage, on a Windows XP Pro box, IIS 5.1.

When reviewing the web site, when I click on a link to one of the pages, rather than simply direct me to the page, IE tries to download the file and I get the usual "File download" box, asking me to Open or Save the file.

I have tried a number of things, reviewing permissions on the page etc but looking at the page in IIS, the permissions all seem to be exactly the same for this file as they do for the other files within the same directory. I can redirect quite happily to them but this one particular file causes the problem.

There are some HTML and ASP pages in the same directory and these are all OK - I can redirect to them quite happily.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is here?

Thanks in anticipation,

Shane

If it's only a specific file that's causing a problem and other asp pages are OK, either the filename extension is incorrect, or the file doesn't contain valid asp code and IIS just sends the contents to your browser, or the file doesn't have execute permissions so the asp code doesn't run.

Thank you Doug - I think that it was an administration error on my part.

Problem now solved - thanks again for your time.
