Iis 6.0 Mime Types
Hi All MICROSOFT IIS ADMINS,
I need help badly with Mime Types in IIS 6.0 I want to create a custom Mime Type, here is what I do in IIS 5.0 Under IIS 5.0 -> HTTP Headers -> File Types(under Mime Map) -> New Type Associated Extension:- .hpml Content Type(MIME):- text/help.hpml; charset=UTF-8 And whenever I request for a file type hpml, it works great in IIS 5.0 I do the same in IIS 6.0, it doesnt work. I have been searching on this issue quiet long and havent had any luck. Any help with this is a great help. - ASR |

Here is a good start for your question.
Windows 2003 Mime Types Things chage from one version of IIS to another. Everything is still available in Windows 2003 server, it's just done a different way. Fortunately for us, Microsoft always puts out information about the use of their new products. I recently set up and configured IIS for 2 Windows 2003 Servers at work. Painful task, cause nothing is turned on. Here is a good reliable source for information for windows 2003 server. It could help you get out of a bind or two. LabMice.Net |
