IIS and FPSE
Hi,
I have a problem with a setup of Frontpage Server Extensions on my Windows 2003 webedition server. The senario is as this: First i create a web called a.com, a useraccount called acom and that is pointing to H:\www\a.com\ I add the serverextension by commandline: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\50\bin\owsadm.exe" -o install -u acom -m a.com "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\50\bin\owsadm.exe" -o check -u acom -m a.com -web / Now i connect to a.com with my frontpage and it works just fine. Secondly i wish to add a new site, but with diffrent host headers, we call it b.com and we point it towards H:\www\a.com\ and run the following: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\50\bin\owsadm.exe" -o install -u acom -m b.com "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\50\bin\owsadm.exe" -o check -u acom -m b.com -web / Both sites is now upp and running and is working great, frontpage functions is working on both. When i now connect to b.com with frontpage write in acom as the user, it wont let me in. If i check access logs with event viewer i dont get any access denied, when looking in filemon it wont give me any errors either. But when i try to login with Administrator it lets me in. I have also tried to add acom to the administrators group but it is not helping. Have anyone got a solution or some tips for this? Thanks in advance Daniel Tiru |

Have you tried using the gui for your server extensions? I don't have 2003 but in earlier versions there was a control panel icon somewhere to get to the fpse configuration screens.

Hi Doug, yes i have tried that aswell
but that one is even more strange cause if i add fpse to one of them, both get marked as extended. But its no diffrence in functionallity, or so to say, the lack of functionallity.Tiru |

I'm not that up on working with FP extensions. A good FP website is www.frontpagewebmaster.com, maybe there is some help there.
