Make sure your windows is up to date, register a domain name, set up DNS so the rest of the world can find your Internet connection, use a router and firewall, forward port 80 through your firewall to the IIS computer.
There are quite a few tutorials on the net.

Hi!
I have set up my site on IIS 5.0, windows 2000 pro and everything works for HTML but when I try to run a simple ASP file as a guestbook that writes to a text fiel (this is then #included in another to read the guestbook), the machine hangs - no error, just looks like it is thinking forever - and subsequent attempt result in a "HTTP Error 500-12" that does not go away despite what M$ suggests on their help area. Any ideas? Thanks! |
