IIS and Session Timeout

I have recently had an intranet application server running W2K and IIS 4.0 serving asp pages patched with all the latest MS updates (inc. SP4) and security patches.

Following this it has stopped working correctly and would appreciate some help - being a complete novice.

It uses NT authentication to ensure that users are limited on what they can see from the site but immediately after logging in they get a "session timeout, please login again" message.

I have checked the IIS home directory and this is set to 20mins timeout and 90 secs on asp pages - the error is like millisecs.

What am I missing?
