Unhappy IIS Configuration

Hello,

I have windows 2000 server with service pack 4. It is a domain controller. On this OS, i have installed IIS. It was installed properly.
But when i browsed defualt page (with URL), it is giving error like this.

"Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance."

When viewed in the event Log. It has following warning.

"The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root'. The error was 'No such interface supported' "

Can anybody help me?

Thank You very much Doug G

It is working now.

But i am facing one small problem now.
I can access the system with URL

But when accessed with same system with its IP (like URL), it is showing 'Enter Network Password' dialog. Even if i tried with the system username/password, it is not showing me the default page.

After cancelling this dialog, it is giving error like HTTP 401.3 - Access denied by ACL on resource'

How can this be resolved?

Sounds to me like some permissions are not correct. Generally IIS will operate as the IUSR_computername user, and that user account needs to have permissions that allow access to the necessary files in your web. You might look at the security settings in your web folders.

There is a permission wizard in the IIS service manager MMC but I haven't used it recently and don't recall much about it.
