On my WinXP Pro machine, IIS 5.1 hangs when serving .ASP pages, but serves .HTML and .ASPX pages without problems. Running .NET Framework v1.1.
Any ideas? |

I'm having a similar asp issue on one of my XP Pro boxes. I recently updated the free ZoneAlarm firewall on the box, and although I didn't change any settings during the firewall upgrade, asp hangs unless I turn off zonealarm. With the fw off IIS is fine.
I haven't had this problem on other XP Pro boxes but it seems to be a firewall issue, not an IIS issue.

Thanks, Doug, but I don't have a firewall running on this box. I'm looking for something that would cause IIS to hang only when I browse for .ASP pages, and not .HTML, .ASPX.

Antivirus script blocking can cause pages to hang.

As soon as I turned off Norton AV's script blocking, the problem went away.
Thank you ever so much! |

it turned out to be xml.send causing the prob.. changed object from XMLHTTP to ServerXMLHTTP and it solved the prob. |
