IIS Installation not working

I have installed IIS onto my windows professional 2000 computer.
I right click on my computer and hit manage and try to go to services and applications but it gives this message:

Error connecting to na-8rozz76apo01 The system path cannot find the path specified,

then I try to find iis within this directory and its not there.

So i go into control pannel and hit Administrative Tools then hit Personal Web Manager and the box pops up with options and i try to add a new virtual directory and still it doesnt let me, it says unable to add teh virtual directory because of an error in the server.

Does anyone know whats going on??? and how i can start viewing my asp pages???

I'd fix this before worrying about IIS.

If you're not, you should be a local computer Administrator user while installing and configuring IIS.

I am an administrator for my computer.
When i install IIS it seems to go in fine, just cant get to the IIS symbol or get it to start.

Any ideas as to how i sort that error message?
