IIS Newbie Please Help
I am setting up IIS for the first time. I've been fighting with it for 2 days straight!
I have installed the software. Placed an index page in wwwroot. And can view it using other computers on my LAN by entering my external IP address into the url bar in iexplorer. As soon as I'm outside my LAN, I get "this page cannot be displayed". I have enabled the port forwarding on port 80 to my local IP. I have even set up a DMZ to my local IP. In my head this narrows me to a permissions problem. I have set wwwroot to a shared internet folder. I cannot understand why it's not working! Any ideas?? Thanks so much. Any help would be appreciated. Ryan |

From your description, you have a router or firewall blocking external access to your website. Some ISP's block port 80, particularly cable ISP's.
