We have a custom "home brew" asp web app that publishes log files for us based a file that is stored in a \lib directory. The first half of the path is specified in a *.inc file where the values are stored in objects which are then used in the main asp file.
For some unknown reason this site is not working, it asks for the "config" file and that its path is incorrect. Even though when I checked it, it was correct. I am by no means a developer (if you have not guessed). I think this has something to do with IIS not being able to server the page properly. At times I receive a 500 error. My plan was to uninstall and reinstall IIS in hopes to repair something in the metabase that may have gotten flipped. I would love to learn ASP, though now is not the time. Can anyone offer me any direction in to how IIS may not be able to server an asp page and a 500 is generated. IS THERE ANY DEBUGGING I CAN SWITCH ON TO SEE WHERE IT IS FAILING PERHAPS? I am sure this post will not make a lot of sense but neither does this issue to me (a non-developer). Server Win2k3 sp2 IIS 6.0 |

Have you disabled 'Friendly http Errors'?
Where? Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Scroll under 'Browsing and find and uncheck the 'Show Friendly http Errors' Then post here any errors you encounter when trying to run your asp page.

Yes Friendly http errors are disabled
I have, and I expected to see perhaps all that "red text" associated with ASP server-side errors, but it does not give me anything.
