IIS offline error page?
Is it possible to know when IIS is offline and return a default error page, possibly configured somewhere in windows?
I'm using IIS 6 and Win 2003 server. |

If IIS is offline what's going to return any pages?
You could probably code something in some other programming language that intercepts port 80 requests, determines that IIS is not running, and responds with some http page to the requester.

Ya, the idea is kind of crazy... but I thought there could be a way...
But I do like your suggestion of another application that checks the port... that is a nice way, thanks for the suggestion. |
