What is the full error message?

If you use IE open Tools - internet options - advanced options and uncheck the "show friendly http errors" to get more detail about your error.

Inspect the event logs on the server for clues.

What version of Windows? You have to explicitly enable asp in IIS6 (w2003).

Otherwise, if you are on a workstation with w2k pro or xp pro, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling IIS. asp pages should run immediately after IIS is installed, without any additional IIS configuration.

Send a message via MSN to RobUK
This wont fix your problem, but will at least give you more info about what the problem is.
So, to quote doug:-
