IIS problem
Hihi...
i m having problem wit my IIS....

i just format my PC (win2k)
then i install norton and SQL server.
I test IIS and it was running fine.
after that, i continue on installing other applications.
when i am done with it and getting all ready to start my web project, pop...my IIS has problem..i try uninstall and reinstall for so many time...

the error message is:
(explorer)
Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.
(event log)
The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root'. The error was 'General access denied error'.

pls kindly help me...thanks!!!

It sounds like the account the IIS server runs under isn't correct. Maybe some other application you installed did something to your windows user database. I don't have a link, but somewhere on the Microsoft website I think there is a program that resets the IIS permission settings back to the original settings.

hihihi!!!!!!!

hehehe...... i solve the problem...FINALLY !!!! after i format my PC for the third time!!!!!!!!!

well, the problem occurred because i install vb service pack 6 and it did some setting of file permission...

i follow the solution in microsoft website and solve the problem...
