IIS Setup Help
Hi all, I am new to web development and IIS. I have what I think is probably an easy question for the more experienced users.
I am using IIS with Dreamweaver to view my webpages locally. The path to my site is c:\shopping\YVS450 This is the path that I entered into my IIS setup. It works just fine. The problem is that I have some pages that are not located within the YVS450 folder but have a path that is c:\shopping\index or whatever file follows the shopping directory. I can not view these pages locally using IIS it gives me a page cannot be found error. I have tried making a virtual directory with a path of c:\shopping but that does not work either. What am I doing wrong? |

Read your Dreamweaver help.
You don't use IIS to view pages. You don't use a disk path to view a page through IIS, use http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 from your web browser.

Dreamweaver does not do much to cover IIS thats why I came here. When setting up IIS it asks for the path to where the files are stored. That is the problem. See my previous post regarding the differences in paths. Is there a way to fix this? |

I'm sure there is a solution, but from the IIS perspective I have no idea. Try Dreamweaver support.
