IIS / SMTP (mail sent to badmail)
Hello,

I am running IIS on a Windows 2000 server. We use this server for a website that allows vendors to order parts. For some reason, all mail that is sent from this server ends up in the bad mail folder and is never delivered. As far as I know nothing has changed (configurations,patches, etc) since it started happening a few days ago. We can send/receive to other domains such as yahoo, hotmail, but we cannot send mail to our own domain. I receive the following error code.

0XC00402CE

Can someone please help me with this?

Something must have changed somewhere. Compare the current smtp server settings with the previous known working settings. See if any other additions were made to your network, like a new router/firewall/proxy or something.

Does the error code come with any more information?

I looked at the SMTP settings in the virtual server properties and everything seems to be the same. I have a FQDN, no smart host, and no reverse dns. When testing, I immediately see bad mail files with extensions of .bdr and .bdp. Also, no router or other hardware/software have been added. I'm lost and need help.

The contents of the files look like the following example:

Could there be some type of virus or denail of service problem?

The specific error code was 0xC00402CE.
